Christina Aguilera Postpones New York Show Due To Laryngitis
Christina Aguilera was unable to perform a scheduled concert at the New York State Fair in Syracuse on Sunday (9/3) due to laryngitis, according to fair officials. Aguilera's management and fair organizers hope that the concert can take place sometime within the next two weeks, but no rescheduled date had been announced by press time.
The Aguilera concert ticket was also good for free admission to the fair, so fair officials allowed concert ticket-holders into the final two days of the fair--which closed on Monday (9/4)--for free, without collecting ticket stubs. Ticket-holders are asked to retain their tickets, which will be honored for the rescheduled show.
According to Aguilera's official website, the tour will resume on Wednesday (9/6) at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, N.J. No other shows were canceled.
Adding to the drama in Syracuse was the theft of $1,000 worth of items--including pyrotechnical equipment--from one of Aguilera's tour buses on Sunday morning. Police said they recovered the items and arrested two Syracuse University students who had evidently been partying with the crew members on the bus, which was parked at a hotel on campus.
