Saint Etienne Set To Invade American Coasts
British dance group Saint Etienne will tour North America beginning on Sept. 21 to promote its fifth album "Sound Of Water," which was released in June.
The group, known for putting a '60s-pop spin on its songs--which include "Avenue" and "People Get Real"--last played live at the Lowlands Festival in Holland on Aug. 25.
Saint Etienne was formed in 1988 by music journalist Bob Stanley and Pete Wiggs. They were joined by vocalist Sarah Cracknell in 1991.
Stanley and Wiggs developed the label Sup Pop for EMI. Cracknell released her solo album "Lipslide" in 1997.
