311 To Tour The U.S. This Fall

311 will embark on a 28-date headlining tour on Oct. 9 that will feature Zebrahead in the opening slot, according to 311's official website. The band is also set to play several festival dates with other artists, including Eminem, Stone Temple Pilots and Cypress Hill.

Prior to the Oct. 9 tour kick-off in San Francisco, 311 is scheduled to play the Red Bull Rock 'n' Air Festival at Red Rocks in Denver, Colo., on Sept. 30. The event, which is billed as a music and extreme sports expo, will also feature Pennywise.

On Oct. 7, 311 is set to perform at the annual Smoke Out Festival in San Bernardino, Calif. The all-day event is also scheduled to feature Cypress Hill, System of a Down, Pennywise, Redman, Dead Prez, Xzibit, Gang Starr, Long Beach Dub Allstars, TapRoot and others.

Once the band's headlining tour is underway, the group will make a stop at New Orleans' Voodoo Music Festival on Oct. 28, where they are scheduled to share the stage with a number of other acts, including Eminem, Stone Temple Pilots, Cypress Hill, Live, Blues Traveler and Guster.

311 is touring in support of its 1999 release, "Soundsystem." Both "Soundsystem" and the group's previous self-titled breakthrough album were released on Capricorn Records, against whom the band reportedly filed a breach of contract lawsuit on Tuesday (8/28). The band claims that Capricorn has failed to properly promote and market the group's albums, according to an Allstar report.

Zebrahead is touring in support of its debut, "Playmate of the Year." The 311 and Zebrahead tour is scheduled to run until Nov. 20 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
