Ousted 'Idol' Hopeful Ramiele Looks Toward The Future

" American Idol" contestant Ramiele Malubay said she had the feeling she was going to get booted from the show Wednesday (4/2) as soon as host Ryan Seacrest revealed fellow "Idol" wannabe Brooke White was safe.

"I kind of had a feeling I was going to go," she said during a Thursday (4/3) teleconference. "Not to be all negative and everything. I'm really not that kind of person. All of us have to leave some time. There's only one winner. My goal was to get as far as I could and I made it on to the tour, so I'm really excited for that."

In what turned out to be her swan song, the 4-foot, 11-inch-tall Malubay, 20, sang Dolly Parton's "Do I Ever Cross Your Mind" to mixed reviews from the judges, Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul.

Malubay said she's going to pursue a career in music as well as, perhaps, acting. If that doesn't work out, she's going to attend college to study nursing. But music is where her head is right now.

"It's pretty much taken over my whole life, but it's a good thing. It's actually the first real big thing that's happened in my whole life. It's exposure. It's my future and I'm really grateful."
