Promoters Bring Popular British Dance Night To America
LONDON--Organizers of the popular English club night Gatecrasher will bring their Global Sound System dance event to North America for an extensive tour. The 24-date venture will kick off in Miami, Fla., on Aug. 31 and finish in Austin, Tx., on Oct. 30.
Gatecrasher originated at the Republic Club in Sheffield, England, and led to the annual summer festival of the same name. This year's Gatecrasher festival was held last June and featured top U.K. DJs Paul Oakenfold, Pete Tong, Sasha and Judge Jules, among others.
DJs for each American venue are still to be confirmed, but will feature at least two of the following Gatecrasher residents: Scott Bond, Ashley Caselle, Heaven, Robbie Nelson and Matt Hardwick.
Gatecrasher was named club of the year at the 1998 MTV Europe Music Awards and also in 1999 by British magazines Ministry and Muzik.
