Trapt unleashes 'Contagious' spring dates

Hard rockers Trapt have lined up a spring run of the US that will take the band to 24 cities when all is said and done.

Set to launch March 29 in Maplewood, MN, the outing moves east, then works its way to the West Coast before finishing up with a final stop back on the eastern shore May 2 in Lancaster, PA. Further dates are listed below. Fellow rockers Red, Halestorm and Inept will open the shows.

The road trip comes on the heels of the band's fall 2008 trek following the release of its third studio set, "Only Through the Pain," which debuted at No. 18 on the Billboard 200 chart. The title track and tour namesake, "Contagious," recently broke into the Top 40 as the alt-metal group's second single, and has seen a digital sales increase of 686% as the song has climbed the charts, according to a press release.

Trapt got its start back in 1997, when the California quartet was still in high school. Within a year, the group had progressed from local gigs to opening duties for national touring acts like Papa Roach. Since then, the band has become a multi-platinum success, with three studio albums under its belt thus far.
