Diana Krall expands 'Quiet' outing
Diana Krall has extended her tour schedule into summer with new dates in support of her forthcoming album, "Quiet Nights," which hits stores next month.
After a few mid-March shows in Hawaii, the Canadian singer/pianist will launch a month-long slate of dates in her home country April 15 in Calgary, Alberta. The new dates on the performer's schedule follow in June, with a scattering of shows also currently showing on Krall's itinerary for July and August. Details are included below.
"Quiet Nights," Krall's 12th album, combines Brazilian and West Coast jazz styles, according to a press release. The set features three covers of songs originally composed by bossa nova legend Antonio Carlos Jobim. The set is due in stores March 31.
Krall co-produced the album with Tommy LiPuma (Miles Davis, Al Jarreau) and worked with composer/arranger Claus Ogerman, a frequent Jobim collaborator, for the first time since her 2001 LP, "The Look of Love."
"Quiet Nights" is Krall's first full-length studio release since 2006's "From This Moment On." In 2007, Verve released "The Very Best of Diana Krall," which is the singer's first career retrospective.
