New Kenny Rogers Album Due, Touring Schedule Remains Busy
Kenny Rogers, who picked up his first Country Music Award nomination in 14 years on Tuesday (8/1), is scheduled to play concerts in more than 40 North American cities through the end of the year. A new Rogers album titled "There You Go Again" is due on Oct. 3.
The single "Buy Me a Rose," which was produced by Rogers, Brent Maher and Jim McKell, was nominated for a CMA Award in the Single of the Year category. The track is from the album "She Rides Wild Horses" (Dreamcatcher), which has sold more than a million copies since its May 1999 release.
"Buy Me a Rose" was the second single from "She Rides Wild Horses." The first, a baseball-themed song called "The Greatest," was the basis for a recently released children's book of the same name. The book, penned by songwriter Don Schlitz, is packaged with a collector's edition CD of the song, and is the first in a series of new children's books to be based on Rogers songs.
"He Will, She Knows?" the first single from Rogers' forthcoming album, has been shipped to country radio stations.
