Butch Walker takes spring walk with 'Meadows'
Singer/songwriter Butch Walker will hit the road this spring in support of his latest studio set, "Sycamore Meadows," which surfaced in November.
The performer kicks off the outing March 5 in Toronto, with 20 dates scheduled for the trek through the end of the month. Details are included below.
Walker's new album, "Sycamore Meadows," gets its title from the address of the singer's former home in Malibu, CA, which was claimed by wildfires in late 2007.
"I lost everything I've ever owned," Walker told Harp magazine. "Every master of every song I've ever recorded, every piece of recording equipment, guitars, drums and things I've collected over the years, cars, motorcycles, every family memorial, heirloom, picture, and document we ever had ... gone."
Three of the album's songs, including the single "Ships in a Bottle," were written before the fire. The video for "Ships in a Bottle," which can be found at Walker's MySpace page, features the singer walking around the remains of his former home.
His previous studio set, 2006's "The Rise and Fall of Butch Walker and the Let's-Go-Out-Tonites," marked Walker's third solo record since leaving his old band, Marvelous 3, in the late '90s.
Aside from his own recorded work, Walker has produced albums for many other artists, including Katy Perry, Avril Lavigne and Pink.
