Antony and the Johnsons tease EP with video trailer

Cabaret-pop act Antony and the Johnsons have released a preview trailer for the title track to the band's upcoming EP, "Another World."

The video, which can be viewed on YouTube, features frontman Antony Hegarty as he "lists things he treasures about the natural world, and expresses that he will miss them," according to a press release.

The trailer for the EP, which hits stores Oct. 7, precedes a pair of US concert performances for the group: Oct. 14 at Los Angeles' Walt Disney Concert Hall backed by a 20-pieve orchestra, and Oct. 16 in New York's Apollo Theatre, with both shows conducted by James Holmes, working from arrangements created by Hegarty and Nico Muhly.

Antony and the Johnsons performed with the Oregon Symphony earlier this month, and also have performed with the London Symphony Orchestra, Milan Symphony and Brooklyn Philharmonic Orchestra. See the group's website for information on international appearances.

The title track of the five-song "Another World" EP will serve as the first single from Antony and the Johnsons' next studio album, "The Crying Light," which is scheduled for release in January. The album and EP follow 2005's critically acclaimed "I Am a Bird Now," which earned Hegarty the highly regarded UK Mercury Music Prize that same year.

Antony also collaborated on some 2007 tracks with Bjork, including her forthcoming single "Dull Flame of Desire," scheduled for a Sept. 29 release.
