Jimmy Buffett adds Jones Beach date, two Vegas shows

Jimmy Buffett has added a few dates to his ever-growing "Year of Still Here" tour, including a pair of Las Vegas shows at the far end of his schedule.

The new additions to the tour--which kicked off last night (4/21) in Woodlands, TX, and continues Thursday (4/24) in suburban St. Louis, MO--also include an Aug. 27 show in Wantagh, NY. Tickets for that show only go on sale April 26, while all previously announced dates on Buffett's schedule--which is included below--are already on sale.

As previously reported, he'll also be a headliner at this August's Newport Folk Festival in Newport, RI.

Buffett continues to support his latest studio effort, 2006's country-leaning "Take the Weather With You," which became his second consecutive No. 1 debut on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart.

The performer's most recent release, the three-disc dual CD/DVD "Live in Anguilla," hit stores last November. The set captures a pair of shows recorded last March on the Caribbean island. Last April, Buffest released "Live at Texas Stadium," which revisits his 2004 Dallas concert with Alan Jackson and George Strait. The trio's cover of Hank Williams' "Hey Good Lookin'" from the latter set netted Buffett his second career Country Music Awards nomination in the Event of the Year category.

The leader of the Parrotheads continues to stay busy with several other endeavors, including a new restaurant under construction in Waikiki, HI; a foray into the casino business in Biloxi, MS; and a new book, "Swine Not?," which is due next month. The forthcoming novel tells the story of "a Southern family determined to hide their pet pig in a fancy four-star hotel in New York City," according to a press release.
