Michael Buble preps for US jaunt

Michael Buble, who just wrapped the Canadian leg of his world tour, will take a brief respite before diving into an eight-week US jaunt.

The Canadian crooner will return to the road Feb. 20 with four shows around Florida, and then travel around the South and East through late April. Since last check, he's added a two-night stand in Atlantic City, NJ, and nearly a dozen stops along the East Coast and in Ohio and Indianapolis.

Buble will take a break following his US dates and then head down under in May for his first arena tour of Australia. He'll also play the April 6 Juno Awards in Calgary. US shows are listed below and those overseas can be found at Buble's website.

The singer's 2007 summer tour was so popular that he ended up adding second and third nights in many US markets. He closed the year with concerts throughout Europe and South Africa.

All the hard work has been in support of Buble's third studio album, "Call Me Irresponsible," which debuted at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 last May and took over the No. 1 spot its second week out. The set is vying for two Grammy awards at the Feb. 10 ceremony: Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for the single "Everything."

"Call Me Irresponsible" comprises standards including "I've Got the World on a String," "The Best is Yet to Come" and a gospel version of Frank Sinatra's "That's Life," as well as covers of Leonard Cohen's "I'm Your Man" and Eric Clapton's "Wonderful Tonight." It also introduces two new originals, including the Buble-penned radio hit "Everything." That song and his latest single, "Lost," are streaming at his MySpace page.

Buble's latest album follows his 2005 platinum-seller, "It's Time," which remained on Billboard's Traditional Jazz chart for two years and won four Juno Awards (the Canadian equivalent of the Grammys).
