Jill Scott keeps it 'Real' on tour, DVD

Grammy-winning soul songstress Jill Scott has added nearly a dozen more cities to her upcoming US tour, which will coincide with a new live DVD.

The outing is scheduled to kick off Feb. 5 in Seattle and make its way across the country through late March. Since last check, a host of dates have been added, including two-night stands in Baltimore, Chicago and Newark, NJ. The previously announced stop in Washington, DC, has expanded to a four-night stand. The full itinerary is listed below.

Grammy-nominated R&B singer Raheem DeVaughn, who just bowed at No. 5 on The Billboard 200 with his latest album, "Love Behind the Melody," will support the trek.

The same day the tour rolls out, Scott will release "Jill Scott: Live In Paris +" on DVD. The set, which will be available in standard and deluxe editions, was recorded at the historic Elysee Montmartre and features bonus material including a documentary and four songs from a House of Blues concert.

The outing and DVD will come just days before Scott is scheduled to attend the Grammy Awards, where she is up for three trophies, including "Best R&B Album" for her latest set, "The Real Thing: Words and Sounds Vol. 3." The R&B/soul/jazz-influenced set, Scott's third studio effort, entered The Billboard 200 at No. 4 in October and has since been certified gold by the RIAA, according to a press release.

Last year, the performer also released "Jill Scott Collaborations," which features many of her collaborative efforts with artists including Will Smith, Sergio Mendes and Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas. Scott's performance of "Daydreamin'" with Lupe Fiasco is up for a Grammy in the "Best Urban/Alternative Performance" category.

In addition to her Grammy nods, the singer/poet/actress/humanitarian has been honored with two NAACP Image Award nominations: "Outstanding Female Artist" and "Best Actress" for her role in Tyler Perry's latest film, "Why Did I Get Married?"

Scott will keep the momentum going behind her acting career, starring in the upcoming film "No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency," directed by Oscar winner Anthony Minghella. She is also in talks to sign onto several other film projects, according to a press release.

Meanwhile, the busy performer recently announced her first corporate venture: "The Butterfly Collection by Jill Scott." She'll design a line of intimate apparel for plus-size women to be marketed through Ashley Stewart Stores nationwide. The venture will benefit Scott's "Blues Babe Foundation," which seeks to nurture college-bound students of color.
