Kid Rock Announces Solo Tour

Rapper Kid Rock will headline his own solo tour after finishing his run with Metallica, Korn and others on the Summer Sanitarium tour. Rock's solo tour kicks off in Evansville, Ind., on August 2.

Rock's latest album, "History of Rock," was released last month. The disc is a compilation of previously recorded songs, many of which were culled from Rock's out-of-print albums "Polyfuze Method" and "Early Mornin' Stoned Pimp," as well as a couple of new tracks.

Last year, Rock exploded into the mainstream with his album "Devil Without a Cause" and the hit-single, "Bawitdaba." "Devil" has sold over 8 million copies to date.

Rock's friendship with Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich led to Rock's participation on Metallica's Summer Sanitarium tour, which also features Korn, Powerman 5000 and System of a Down. Rock and Metallica will also take part in Seattle's Experience Music Project festival on June 23 and Chicago's Rockfest on July 22.

Rock's solo tour is currently scheduled to run until August 24.
