Eminem Will Face Concealed Weapons, Assault Charges
update: Prosecutors in Macomb County, Mich., plan to formally charge rapper Eminem on one count of carrying an illegally concealed weapon and one count of assault with a dangerous weapon on Wednesday (6/7). The charges stem from an after-hours scuffle outside a club in a Warren, Mich., over the weekend.
Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, was among four people arrested on Sunday (6/4) following a dispute in the parking lot of Hot Rocks Café in Warren, Mich.
According to this Tuesday's edition (6/6) of the Detroit Free Press, Eminem went to the bar because he suspected that his wife, Kim Scott, was seeing another man. After spotting Scott and her male acquaintance at the club, Eminem reportedly got into an argument with the couple. Police allege that an unloaded gun allegedly fell to the ground at some point during the exchange.
Scott was arraigned on Monday (6/5) on a misdemeanor charge of disturbing the peace. A friend who accompanied Eminem to the club was also arrested, as was a man not directly related to the dispute who police cited for failure to move on.
