New Eagles album to span two discs

"Long Road Out of Eden," the first album of new material from the Eagles in 28 years, is now officially set for release on Oct. 30, according to the group's publicist.

The 20 song, 2-CD set will be priced at $11.88--far below most double albums. Digital downloads of the album will be priced at $10.88.

The album's first single, "How Long," was released earlier this month. The track is a cover of a J.D. Souther song that first appeared 35 years ago on the singer/songwriter's debut album.

Last year, the Eagles and Wal-Mart Stores announced they entered a "long-term strategic marketing agreement that will encompass sponsorship, exclusive audio and video releases, and product visibility," according to a statement issued at the time by the big-box retailer.

As a result of that agreement, "Long Road Out of Eden" will be sold exclusively by Wal-Mart, Sam's Club, walmart.com, samsclub.com and eaglesband.com.

The Eagles are scheduled to play six dates in October with the Dixie Chicks to mark the grand opening of the city's Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles. Details are below.
