Kaiser Chiefs book another US run
British pop-rockers Kaiser Chiefs have been all over the world supporting their latest album, "Yours Truly, Angry Mob," and have plans to do another run of North American dates beginning in September.
The band will kick off the monthlong tour Sept. 14 at the Austin City Limits Festival in Texas and hit cities across the country including Atlanta, Miami, New York, Detroit, Chicago, Denver and Los Angeles. Along the way, Kaiser Chiefs will veer off for a Sept. 16 show in Mexico City and and an Oct. 2 gig in Toronto. North American dates are listed below.
The group's sophomore set, "Yours Truly, Angry Mob," was released in March and peaked at No. 45 on The Billboard 200. The album spawned modern rock hit "Ruby," and the next single, "The Angry Mob," will be released next month, according to the band's website. Both songs are streaming at Kaiser Chiefs' MySpace page.
The band was thrust into the spotlight with its 2005 debut, "Employment," and the hit single "I Predict a Riot." The attention scored Kaiser Chiefs slots on several major festivals and they went on to win three Brit Awards last year.
The bandmates--childhood friends Nick Hodgson, Nick "Peanut" Bains and Simon Rix along with Ricky Wilson and Andrew "Whitey" White--completed a North American trek in the spring that included a spot at Indio, CA's Coachella fest.
Kaiser Chiefs are currently playing festivals in Europe and will hit Japan and Australia before touring the US and wrapping the year with a run of UK arena dates. International shows can be found at the band's website.
