Third Eye Blind Summer Tour Leaves The Clubs, Hits Larger Venues

Third Eye Blind, which recently completed a sold-out club tour, will remain on the road through the summer as they make the rounds of the amphitheater circuit. In June, the pop-rock act will play short sets during several radio festivals. A headlining tour will follow in July.

The band is touring behind its sophomore album "Blue," which was released in November. The album has been on the Billboard 200 album chart for the last 40 weeks, and now sits at No. 101. The group's current single "Never Let You Go" climbed into the top 20.

Third Eye Blind fired lead guitarist Kevin Cadogan in January. Cadogan has since formed a new band called Bully, which is recording an album titled "bully4you" for release on his own independent label, Tossed Out Records.

Tony Fredianelli, who had played guitar previously for Third Eye Blind, replaced Cadogan.

Vertical Horizon, who has opened for bands ranging from the Allman Brothers to Hootie and the Blowfish, will be the opening act for 3EB's summer headlining tour. After surviving several years as an independent band, Vertical Horizon released "Everything You Want" on RCA Records in 1999.
