Judge Refuses To Free Bobby Brown On Bail

update: R&B musician Bobby Brown, who has been jailed in Florida since he was arrested on an outstanding warrant on May 10, has been denied bond and probably will remain behind bars at least until a June 19 hearing, according to the Ft. Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel. The judge reportedly said he considers Brown a flight risk because of his wealth.

At the next hearing, a judge will determine whether Brown violated his probation, a result of a 1996 drunk-driving accident. The terms of the probation included regular drug testing. Last year, the singer allegedly refused to re-take a urine test that turned up positive for cocaine use, which led to a judge issuing a warrant for his arrest.

Brown was arrested at Newark Airport in New Jersey on May 10 as he returned from a vacation in the Bahamas, and he was later transported to a Ft. Lauderdale jail cell.
