Nelly Furtado lets 'Loose' on US tour
Singer/songwriter Nelly Furtado's road show will hit the US for a 17-city tour beginning in late May as the singer continues to support her most recent studio album, last year's "Loose."
Furtado will be backed by four dancers and her six-piece band on the outing, which kicks off May 30 in Hollywood, FL.
"For the last eight years I've never really traveled with a full production of lights, visuals and dancers--and this tour I've got all of it," the 28-year-old Canadian singer said in a press release. "I've spent eight years building my musicality so that now I can rely on that, but then I also have a great backup up there with all the production, which is a treat for me."
Furtado's complete itinerary is detailed below.
Released in June of last year, "Loose" debuted in the No. 1 slot on The Billboard 200 album chart and has sold more than five million copies worldwide, according to her publicist.
Earlier this month, Furtado took home five Juno awards--the Canadian equivalent of the Grammys--winning Best Artist and Pop Album of the Year, as well as Single, Album, and Fan's Choice.
Furtado was nominated for a Grammy earlier this year for "Promiscuous," the lead track off of "Loose." The singer was nominated for four Grammys for her debut album, "Whoa, Nelly!", taking home the trophy for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for "I'm Like a Bird."
