Christina Aguilera Adds North American Appearances
update: Christina Aguilera, who called off a trip to Europe because she was suffering from the flu, will resume her touring schedule with concerts on Friday and Saturday (5/19-20). Meanwhile, several new dates--mostly on the West Coast in October--have been added to the teen pop star's debut headlining tour.
Following this weekend, Aguilera's itinerary shows a break of more than a month before she begins a stretch of more than three months on the road. The first leg includes a Canadian tour as well as several scaled-back fair and festival appearances.
Aguilera's August schedule includes a mix of fair dates and headlining gigs at amphitheaters. In September and October, nearly all of her performances will be headlining performances at amphitheaters.
Aguilera was forced to cancel her performance at the World Music Awards in Monaco on last week and postpone a trip to the United Kingdom due to a ''severe ear infection and a serious case of the flu related to exhaustion.''
