Bobby Brown Jailed On Outstanding Arrest Warrant
Bobby Brown, who was arrested at a New Jersey airport on Wednesday night (5/10) on an outstanding warrant related to a 1996 drunk-driving case, has been transported to a Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., jail cell. A judge issued the warrant last year after Brown allegedly refused to re-take a urine test that turned up positive for cocaine use.
Brown was under court order to undergo regular drug testing following a 1996 automobile accident in which the car he was driving--a Porsche belonging to his wife, Whitney Houston--ran off the road and into a condominium sign. Police reported that Brown's blood-alcohol level was three times the legal limit.
Brown was picked up by police at Newark Airport following a fight from the Bahamas. The singer is scheduled to appear in a Florida courtroom on May 22.
