Hinder goes 'Door to Dorm'
Rock band Hinder has been tapped to headline the inaugural Madpackers.com "Door to Dorm" tour of college campuses, which launches with a March 16 Spring Break gig in South Padre, TX, and picks up again April 13 for a month's worth of shows primarily in the Eastern US.
The outing, which will hit a few major music festivals along the way, also includes alt-metal band Papa Roach and post-grunge outfit Puddle of Mudd on select dates. Hinder's itinerary, including a few dates outside of the Madpackers tour, is listed below.
The "Door to Dorm" stops will be all-day campus events, giving students a chance to socialize, relax and rock out, according to a press release.
"These students work hard and this is our chance to give them a reason to take a break and enjoy themselves," MadPackers President Brian Altomare said in a statement, which added that concert tickets are reasonably priced to meet a college student's budget.
MadPackers is a shipping service aimed at college students moving to and from school.
Meanwhile, during the lull between the first and second dates of the US tour, Hinder will jet to Europe for shows in Sweden, Germany, Holland, France and the UK. Details about those gigs can be found at the band's website.
The Oklahoma-based rock band has scored multi-platinum status with its 2005 debut, "Extreme Behavior," which features the hit song "Lips of an Angel" and current single "Better Than Me," both of which are streaming at Hinder's MySpace page.
The band has previously said it will spend most of this year touring before starting work on a new album.
