Top Acts To Appear At Experience Music Project’s Opening
Seattle Center's Experience Music Project museum will launch in grand fashion on June 23-25 with concerts by 40-plus acts, including Dr. Dre, Metallica, No Doubt, Matchbox Twenty, Alanis Morissette, Eurythmics, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beck and James Brown. Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen backed the unusual architectural wonder, which was designed by Frank O. Gehry.
At EMP, visitors will be able to view acres of music memorabilia, experiment with the latest music production technologies and speculate with the experts on what was actually the first rock and roll record. In addition, the museum will serve as a venue for live performances.
Tickets for all shows are available to EMP members immediately, and any remaining tickets will be available to the public on May 13th.
A full schedule for the ticketed and free shows of the Grand Opening Concert Series, all staged across the Seattle Center grounds, follows. Check SoundSpike's sister site seattle.citysearch.com on Friday, May 12 for more information and for previews of all of the acts on the bill.
