Trisha Yearwood Sets Spring And Summer Tour Dates
Taking to the road in support of her forthcoming LP "Real Live Woman," due on March 28, country star Trisha Yearwood's latest junket includes more than 50 dates.
Kicking off at Irving Plaza in New York on March 29, Yearwood's tour itinerary wraps up with a July 15 gig in Louisville, Ky. Singers Kim Richey and Jessica Andrews will alternately serve as opening acts.
The Grammy-winning Yearwood's new album features guest vocals from Emmylou Harris, Jackson Browne, Kim Richey and Mary Chapin Carpenter and includes a cover of the Bruce Springsteen song ''Sad Eyes.''
Last year Yearwood was inducted as a member of the Grand Ole Opry cast and told the Nashville Tennessean that she felt honored to be picked as a member of the country music show's roll call.
''I'm excited to be part of a group of artists who seem to be really committed to letting people know how important the Opry is, people like Vince, Garth, Steve Wariner and Ricky Skaggs, artists who are going to take this to the next generation, to teach the younger artists the importance of it, to try to keep it going for future generations.''
