My Morning Jacket unwraps 2007 dates

Currently backing their first live album and accompanying concert DVD, alt-rockers My Morning Jacket have sketched out a two-week trek that includes a New Year's Eve show at San Francisco's Fillmore Auditorium.

The outing, which kicks off Dec. 29 in San Francisco, will encompass 12 dates in nine cities and run through a two-night engagement in Denver beginning Jan. 12. R&B act Elvis Perkins will offer opening support for most shows during the trek.

The group also announced that it will be playing a slot during all three days of the March 9-11 Langerado music festival in South Florida. The festival's lineup, which can be found in full at the official Langerado website, also includes The New Pornographers, Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks, The Hold Steady and many others.

My Morning Jacket's recent concert recording, dubbed "Okonokos," hit stores Sept. 26. The two-disc set--mixed by Michael Brauer (Bob Dylan, Coldplay) and mastered by engineer Bob Ludwig--features 21 tracks. The full tracklisting is available at the band's official website.

The "Okonokos" concert film--issued Oct. 31 on DVD--was screened in select cities this fall. The piece was filmed by director Sam Erickson with the aid of lighting designer Marc Brickman, perhaps best known for his work with Pink Floyd.

The "Okonokos" projects follow last year's "Z," My Morning Jacket's fourth full-length album. SoundSpike's critics named "Z" the best album of 2005.
