U2 reschedules shows, Pearl Jam joins Hawaii bill

U2 has rescheduled its Vertigo 2006 shows in Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Hawaii, which were postponed in March due to an illness in an unspecified band member's family.

The Irish rock band will return to the road Nov. 7, starting in Brisbane, Australia. The four-city Australian trek will be followed by shows in New Zealand and Japan, and the tour will wrap up Dec. 9 in Hawaii.

"We are very happy to announce the rescheduling and appreciate everyone's patience." Arthur Fogel of concert promoter TNA said in a press release.

Grammy-winner Kanye West will serve as U2's opening act in Australia and New Zealand. Pearl Jam and Rocko & the Devils will support on the Honolulu date.

"It's going to be a great night in Hawaii," U2 manager Paul McGuinness said in the statement. "The band are really pleased Pearl Jam could join the bill, a great end to what has already been a very successful tour."

Three new dates have also been announced at Tokyo's Saitama Super Arena: Nov. 29-30 and Dec. 4.
