Red Hot Chili Peppers fire up more shows
With tickets for their upcoming tour continuing to sell at a fast clip, The Red Hot Chili Peppers have added additional nights to their schedule as they gear up for a roadtrip behind "Stadium Arcadium."
Last week, the Los Angeles-based group announced an Aug. 31 hometown show at the Great West Forum and tickets quickly sold out, prompting organizers to roll out a second show on Sept. 1, tickets for which are on sale now.
Meanwhile, the group has added to its schedule an Aug. 28 stop in Sacramento, CA, tickets for which go on sale June 17, and an Aug. 12 headlining performance at a radio-station festival in Auburn, WA, tickets for which go on sale Saturday (6/10).
A Saturday on-sale is also expected for a just-announced Oct. 2 show in Boston, the group's second planned performance in that city.
Tickets for the rest of the tour's previously announced stops are already on sale. Details are shown below.
Members of the group's official fan club have access to ticket presales before tickets become available to the general public. More information is posted at the band's website.
"Stadium Arcadium," a double album that follows 2002's "By the Way," sold about 442,000 copies during its first week in stores, enough to earn the group its first No. 1 placement on The Billboard 200 album chart. The disc has grabbed traction thanks in part to its lead-off single, "Dani California," the music video for which is streaming at the Chili Peppers' website.
