Daniel Powter sets tour behind debut album
Singer/songwriter Daniel Powter, who stormed the European charts last year with his single "Bad Day," has mapped out a US tour in support of his self-titled debut album.
The Canadian native, whose debut finally saw its US release in April after climbing the charts last year in his home country and in the UK, will kick off his two-week US tour July 17 in Philadelphia.
Powter has lined up gigs in 11 major cities across the country for his tour, which will start a month after he finishes his current European itinerary. Powter's full schedule, including European dates, can be found at his website.
The 25-year-old singer found early success in Canada with "Bad Day," which blossomed into international success and a guest slot on the finale of this season's "American Idol," performing "Bad Day." The song was used extensively throughout the fifth season of "Idol." Powter also gained acclaim last year with his performance at the Berlin Live 8 concert.
Powter's self-titled debut was co-produced by Mitchell Froom (Elvis Costello, Crowded House) and Powter's longtime collaborator Jeff Dawson.
