Toni Braxton inks exclusive Las Vegas engagement

Toni Braxton will take up residency in Las Vegas beginning Aug. 3, in a deal similar to earlier arrangements by Elton John and Celine Dion.

Braxton, who is currently supporting her latest CD, 2005's "Libra," will bring her "Toni Braxton: Revealed" live show to the Flamingo Las Vegas for an open-ended run.

"We are thrilled to have Toni join us at the Flamingo," said Don Marrandino, president of Flamingo Las Vegas, in a press release. "She is a vibrant entertainer whose world stature will bring renewed energy and prestige to the same stage that has featured countless musical superstars over the past 60 years."

According to organizers, Braxton will perform in a "full-scale musical production" six nights per week, complete with typical Las Vegas elements such as "amazing costumes, background singers and dancers."

"I've just come off the road doing my first tour in 10 years and I can't wait to create an exciting new show for the legendary Flamingo," said Braxton in the press release. "There is nothing like the thrill of performing nightly to a live audience with fans that have supported me throughout my career."

Tickets for the production go on sale Friday (5/19) and start at $65 each.

"Libra," Braxton's first new album since ending her longtime alliance with Arista Records, hit stores last September. Braxton worked with a variety of producers on the set, including Scott Storch (Beyonce Knowles, Lil' Kim) and Antonio Dixon (The Underdogs).
