Shania Twain To Tour The Southeast
Shania Twain, who concluded her wildly successful 1998-99 world tour in July, will return to the road in mid-November for a mini-tour of the Southeastern United States.
Twain will open with a Nov. 14 performance at Texas Stadium in Irving. The concert will be taped for her second CBS television special, which is scheduled to air on Thanksgiving night.
The other cities on Twain's itinerary are Greensboro, N.C., Richmond, Va., Greenville, S.C., Tampa, Fla., and West Palm Beach, Fla. Tickets for the Texas Stadium show are currently on sale, and tickets for all other shows go on sale Saturday (10/9).
Over the last two years, Twain has emerged as one of country music's top-drawing live acts. Trade magazine Amusement Business estimates that her 1998-99 concerts took in more than $65 million.
With her album ''Come On Over'', Twain became the first female country music artist to sell more than 10 million copies of two consecutive albums. The album -- her third -- was also her second collaboration with her husband and producer, Robert John ''Mutt'' Lange.
Last month, Twain took home the Country Music Association's Entertainer Of The Year Award.
