George Jones back on the road after health scare
Country legend George Jones is back on the road again after a bout with pneumonia landed him in a Nashville hospital.
The 74-year-old Jones was hospitalized March 30 after coming down with pneumonia and was forced to cancel several appearances, but has since made a full recovery, according to his website. The cancelled shows will be made up at a later date.
Jones, who is touring behind his 2005 album "Hits I Missed...And One I Didn't," will next appear May 11 in Onamia, MN. Jones has been playing around 90 shows a year in recent years, and his current schedule stretches all the way into December.
"Hits I Missed...And One I Didn't," which hit stores last September, finds Jones recording versions of hit songs that he was originally offered and declined, only to see other artists go on to turn them into hits. The one exception is his re-recording of his 1980 hit "He Stopped Loving Her Today," which Jones chose because, according to the album's liner notes, he "learned to sing it better."
