Michael Jackson lives on with Cirque du Soleil's "Immortal" tour

The Estate of Michael Jackson and Cirque du Soleil have joined forces to keep the pop legend's legacy alive with a creative musical undertaking that has been dubbed "The Immortal World Tour."
Under the guidance of award-winning concert director Jamie King, 60 international performers will celebrate Jackson's "love of music and dance, fairy tale and magic, and the fragile beauty of nature," according to a press release, with an over the top production filled with the King of Pop's music and choreography.
The trek's inaugural leg begins with a two-night stand Oct. 2-3 in Montreal, followed by arena stops throughout Canada and major US markets on the East and West Coasts. The 27-city run, which also includes nine consecutive nights in Las Vegas, is scattered throughout the end of 2011 and well into 2012. Additional cities and dates will be revealed in the coming weeks.
Tickets for this first round of gigs go on sale Saturday (11/6) via Jackson's website.
Members of the Cirque Club as well as subscribers to Jackson's website can purchase presale tickets now through Nov. 6.
The Estate of Michael Jackson and Cirque du Soleil reached a business agreement earlier this year to work together for the "creation, development, production and promotion" of Jackson-related projects. Both parties will each own 50 percent of every project, while the Estate of Michael Jackson will also receive royalty payments for various aspects of Jackson's property, according to a press release.
