In Pictures: Hardly Strictly Bluegrass in San Francisco
The 10th annual free concert Hardly Strictly Bluegrass hit San Francisco's Golden Gate Park over the weekend (10/1-10/3), and park officials estimated that approximately 900,000 fans turned out.
The laid-back crowd braved typically cool temps in the park, and some stars -- such as Jenny Lewis -- were spotted blending in among fans to enjoy their compatriots' performances. The lineup consisted of such legends as Joan Baez, Patti Smith, and Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys. Elvis Costello, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Jenny and Johnny, T Bone Burnett, Dukes of September, Conor Oberst and Steve Earle were also on the bill. Financier Warren Hellman -- the man who donates the funds that make the festival possible year after year -- performed with his band the Wronglers.
SoundSpike contributing photographer Tim Mosenfelder was on the scene from start to finish, and here are some of his best shots.
