Columbus, OH's fourth Rock on the Range fest shattered the event's attendance record with a turnout of 60,000 fans.
The lineup for the May 22-23 event, which Spin.com called a "hard rock and metal Shangri-La," included names such as Limp Bizkit, Rob Zombie, Slash, Drowning Pool, Puddle of Mudd, Helmet, Deftones, Three Days Grace, Godsmack, Mastodon and Seether, to name a few. In all, 35-plus bands performed back-to-back on three stages.
In addition to the music, ROTR reportedly donated a sizable amount of the proceeds from ticket sales to support the flood relief efforts in Nashville. Meanwhile, as part of the event's "Go Green Initiative," organizers claimed concertgoers traded in twice as many of their unwanted cell phones (for special ROTR prizes) as they did in 2009. SoundSpike contributing photographer Gene Schilling was on hand and here are some highlights.
