Australian outfit The John Butler Trio has mapped a summer excursion throughout the US, Europe and Australia behind the recently released "April Uprising."

The jam-band threesome--singer/guitarist John Butler, drummer Nicky Bomba and bassist Byron Luiters--will begin the US leg with a June 4 performance at Morrison, CO's Red Rocks Amphitheater, pushing through 10 cities, including a June 13 performance at Manchester, TN's Bonnaroo Festival. The trio will then move into Canada before heading across the pond for a seven-city European run. The full schedule, including the Australian leg, is shown at right.

"April Uprising," the band's fifth studio effort, hit shelves throughout Europe and Australia in late March before surfacing stateside in April. The new collection, which debuted atop the Australian Aria charts, follows 2007's "Grand National," which peaked on Billboard's Heatseekers Albums chart.

"I feel the sounds and general spirit and energy of this album are best summed up in the words 'free, melodic, funky, phat and rocking,'" Butler explained in a statement posted at the group's . "There's definitely a certain attitude that comes across on the album. Perhaps there's a conviction, in a songwriting and production sense, that I haven't tapped into so much on earlier works."

In related news, "April Uprising" is available as Amazon's Deal of the Day today only (6/2) for a mere $2.99.
