Santana extends Vegas residency, visits Europe behind "Guitar Heaven"
Nearly two months after asking his drummer, Cindy Blackman, to marry him during a Chicago concert, Santana has decided to follow up a forthcoming European run with another round of Las Vegas performances that extend into 2011.
The legendary guitarist and his backing band will continue their in-progress residency at Las Vegas' Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, adding another seven dates to the roster. Dubbed "Supernatural Santana: A Trip Through The Hits," the concerts feature an ever-changing set list of hits from the performer's extensive catalog. The current slate of shows wraps up Sunday (9/5) and begins again Jan. 5.
The band will spend the entire month of October traipsing across Europe, wrapping up the overseas leg Oct. 30 in Norway.

Santana is slated to release a brand-new album, "Guitar Heaven...The Greatest Guitar Classics of All Time," Sept. 21 on Arista Records. The studio effort, made up of 13 classic covers, features special guests Chris Cornell, Pat Monahan, India.Arie, Yo Yo Ma, Rob Thomas, Scott Weiland, Nas, Chris Daughtry and Gavin Rossdale, among others.
