Green Day talks up possible live album

As the final stretch of Green Day's North American tour winds down, the band appears to be readying a live album featuring highlights of the trek.
Word of the project initially surfaced in an Aug. 24 tweet on the band's official Twitter account, saying, "We've been recording our live shows since the beginning of tour. Possible Live album coming. A ton of songs! We're in texas!"
Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong subsequently told crowds along the way in Denver, Irvine, CA, and last night (9/2) in Chula Vista, CA, that portions of their shows could make the cut.
When it's in the books, this year's North American run will have hit 18 cities, including a celebrated stop at Lollapalooza. Following a final U.S. date Saturday (9/4) in Mountain View, CA, the band will wrap its roadwork for the year with a 10-date South American trek.
