Rapper T.I. and his wife arrested in L.A.

Rapper T.I. and his wife Tameka "Tiny" Cottle were arrested Wednesday night (9/1) after police said they found "a controlled substance" during a traffic stop in Los Angeles County.

According to reports out of Los Angeles, sheriff's deputies claimed they smelled marijuana after pulling over T.I.'s vehicle for allegedly making an illegal U-Turn.

Upon further investigation, T.I. and his wife "were found to be in possession of a controlled substance," a statement from the L.A. County sheriff's office said. Some media outlets are reporting that officers found pills resembling Ecstasy, while others are reporting that it resembled methamphetamine. The pills reportedly are being tested.

T.I. got an early release from prison in March and remains on probation for federal weapons charges. Cottle is best known as a member of the girl group Xscape.

Both were booked and each released on $10,000 bail.
