OK Go pounds pavement behind "Sky"
Chicago power-pop outfit OK Go has unleashed a string of North American performances behind the band's January release, "Of the Blue Colour of the Sky."
The rock quartet -- known for it's creative viral videos, most notably for "Here it Goes Again" and "This Too Shall Pass" -- will kick off the expansive run with an Oct. 3 appearance at Pomona, CA's Los Angeles County Fair. The tour's itinerary, which is shown at right, spans about five weeks and concludes Nov. 9 in Santa Barbara.
OK Go also have a handful of international shows on their schedule, including three Brazilian gigs, one of which is a Sept. 16 performance at the MTV Brazil Music Awards.
"Of the Blue Colour of the Sky," the group's third studio effort, surfaced in January and follows their 2005 release, "Oh No."
Next week the band will unveil a remix contest for their new single, "White Knuckle." Fans are encouraged to get creative and submit remixes of the track to the OK Go website between Sept. 7 and Oct. 14. Dave Fridmann, the producer of the track, will select his favorites, which will be featured on the band's website. The winner, which will be announced Oct. 29, will have his remix mastered and available for download for the "Rock Band" video game, along with a swag bag of prizes.
