Jose Gonzalez-led Junip planning U.S. tour

Swedish musician Jose Gonzalez and his band Junip will tour the U.S. beginning on Nov. 1. Tour dates are still being firmed up for the act, which will release its debut album, 'Fields,' on Sept. 14.

Gonzalez, who has recorded with Zero 7 and released his own solo records, formed Junip int he 1990s with drummer Elias Araya and organ and moog player Tobias Winterkorn,

Prior to the live tour, a documentary on Gonzalez is on a tour of its own -- but to see it, you need to travel to Sweden. "The Extraordinary Ordinary Life of Jose Gonzalez" will play festivals in Malmo, Jonkoping, Vasteras, Norrkoping and Lund between now and Oct. 5. It has already been screened in Goteberg and Stockholm.

The 74-minute film was directed by Mikel Cee Karisson and Fredrik Egerstrand using video diary, surveillance camera, concert footage, tour documentation and animation. Gonzalez was filmed during the making of his second album, "In Our Nature."
