In Pictures: John Mayer in Mountain View, CA

Since John Mayer kicked off his "Battle Studies World Tour" last November, he's had plenty of notable opening acts -- Michael Franti & Spearhead, Orianthi, Train, Avett Brothers and Owl City among them. Now he can add his own name to the list.

During his show on Sunday (8/22) at the Hollywood Bowl, Mayer served as his own supporting act. The Los Angeles Times reported that he joked with the audience, saying, "I'm John Mayer opening for John Mayer. Are you ready for John Mayer after this?"

In November, The VH1 Save The Music Foundation is set to honor the multiple Grammy Award winner as part of a gala celebration for The ASCAP Foundation, which has been supporting music education in America's public schools for 13 years.
