Phish plots fall tour, ticket buyers get free concert downloads

Phish has confirmed an eight-city fall tour that will follow the popular jam band's appearance at the sold-out Austin City Limits festival in Austin, TX.
The fall outing gets underway Oct. 10 with a three-night stand in Broomfield, CO, and ends with another three-night stand, Oct. 29-31, in Atlantic City, NJ.
As is typical for Phish, a limited number of tickets are being sold by the band prior to the general onsales. The ticket-request period has begun at musictoday.com, and runs through Sept. 3. Tickets go on sale via traditional outlets Sept. 10 and 11; details are in the itinerary at right.
The Halloween show will mark Phish's first-ever concert in Atlantic City. The band has a tradition of staging elaborate, three-set Halloween shows, the second of which features Phish playing cover version of an entire album by another artist. Last year, Phish covered the Rolling Stones' "Exile on Main St."
According to a press release, fans who buy tickets for the fall tour will receive free MP3 copies of each gig via livephish.com.
Even fans who don't purchase tickets can download some free Phish music. The band is giving away a sampler titled "Live Bait," with features 10 tracks recorded during the first leg of Phish's 2010 tour. Among the tracks is "Show of Life," which the band debuted this summer.
