3 Doors Down bassist charged with vehicular manslaughter
3 Doors Down bassist Todd Harrell has been arrested and charged with vehicular manslaughter after allegedly causing an accident Friday night (4/19) that killed another driver.
A car driven by the 41-year-old musician allegedly clipped a truck Friday night (4/19), sending that vehicle over a guardrail and down an embankment, according to published reports. That driver, 47-year-old Paul Howard Shoulders Jr., died in a Nashville hospital.
Harrell hit a retaining wall nearly a 1/4-mile away and failed a subsequent field sobriety test, which landed him in Nashville's metro jail. He acknowledged having hard cider in his system at the time of the accident, as well as the painkiller Lortab and anti-anxiety medication Xanax.
3 Doors Down has canceled two performances in the wake of Harrell's arrest: an April 26 show in Bossier City, LA, and a May 4 concert in Nashville.
The alt-rock outfit will head to Europe in late May and return for a domestic leg with Daughtry beginning July 5 in Solomons, MD.
