Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, more slated for Orion More + Music Festival
Metallica will host the two-day music extravaganza June 8-9 at Belle Isle in Detroit. The event will feature more than 30 bands across five stages, with acts like Dropkick Murphys, Gogol Bordello, Flag and Silversun Pickups, among others.
Pre-sale two-day passes go on sale Feb. 27, while general on-sales get underway March 1 on the festival website.
Along with the music, Orion More + Music will include elements reflective of each Metallica member's personality, according to a press release. The grounds will feature James Hatfield's Custom Car & Motorcycle Show, Kirk Hammett's Crypt, Lars Ulrich's Hit the Lights Film Tent and Robert Trujillo's Vans Vert Ramp. The Metallica Museum will also make its return, alogn with other attractions.
Metallica's most recent studio effort, "Death Magnetic," surfaced in 2008. The Rick Rubin-produced set debuted at the top of The Billboard 200, marking the outfit's fifth consecutive album to hit that mark.
