Gary Clark Jr. unveils Maverick Music Festival in San Antonio

Blues guitarist Gary Clark Jr. will launch his inaugural Maverick Music Festival this spring in San Antonio amid a busy worldwide tour supporting last fall's "Blak and Blu."
The Texas native will first complete a European trek that begins later this week (2/15) in Amsterdam before returning to the U.S. for the brand-new festival, which takes place March 23 in downtown San Antonio. The one-day event will be free and open to the public during the day, while nighttime entertainment from 6pm to midnight will require tickets, available at the festival's website.
The first annual Maverick Music Festival lineup includes Clark, as well as The Toadies, Girl in a Coma, Arum Rae and Henry + the Invisibles.
Following the festival, Clark will continue touring, stopping by festivals across the U.S. through early June.
"Blak and Blu," Clark's first major label release, surfaced in October via Warner Bros. Records. The 13-track topped Billboard's Blues Albums chart and landed at No. 27 on Rolling Stone magazine's Top 50 Albums of 2012 list.
