Cat Power takes "Sun" out for another round
Singer/songwriter Cat Power has added more North American shows to her push behind "Sun," as well as some performances Down Under.
The songstress otherwise known as Chan Marshall will return to the road Jan. 22 in Santa Ana, CA, and continue for another five dates that are spread across the continent. The theater shows conclude Jan. 30 in Philadelphia, after which the musician will head to New Zealand and Australia for a round of concerts.
Ticketing information for the excursion is available at Cat Power's website.
"Sun," Cat Power's her first new material in over six years, hit retailers in August via Matador Records. The 11-track album was self-produced in several locations, including her own Malibu studio, and follows 2006's "The Greatest," which scaled Billboard's Top Independent Albums chart. The most recent release hit No. 10 on The Billboard 200 and made it into the Top 10 in in five European markets.
Fans can sign up for two free MP3 versions of "Cherokee" -- the album version and a Nicolas Jarr remix -- at Cat Power's site.
