Airborne Toxic Event launches spring trek ahead of new record
Indie-rockers Airborne Toxic Event have unveiled a sporadic 2013 outing ahead of a still-untitled new studio album that's set to hit retailers in the first half of the year.
The L.A.-based outfit will celebrate New Year's Eve (12/31) in Chicago, IL, followed by theater shows in New York City (1/15-1/16) and Los Angeles (1/23). A springtime West Coast run will kick off March 30 in San Diego and push through eight major markets before wrapping up April 11 in San Francisco, with more shows to come.
Tickets for most stops are on sale now via the band's website.
"We're very excited to announce that the new album is done and will be released in the spring," the group posted at their website. "It's been strange being away. We've missed that feeling of jumping off an amp, narrowly avoiding a puddle of beer, and then realizing as we hit the ground that we are not in fact in Detroit, but Minneapolis."
The forthcoming collection, which was recorded at Nashville's Blackbird Studio with Grammy-winning producer Jacquire King, follows their sophomore set, "All at Once." That album, which surfaced in April 2011, peaked at No. 17 on The Billboard 200.
