Tegan and Sara ready for "Heartthrob" tour
Canadian indie-rock sisters Tegan and Sara have mapped a late winter and early spring outing in support of their impending new album, "Heartthrob."
The identical twins continue an in-progress trek with a performance tonight (12/18) in Fairfax, VA, followed by three more Midwest performances this week.
A newly confirmed round of dates will get underway Jan. 25 in Richmond, VA, and move across the eastern part of the U.S. and parts of Canada through an April 14 performance in Tucson, AZ.
Tegan and Sara will release "Heartthrob," their seventh studio set, Jan. 23 via Sire Records. The 10-track album includes the lead single "Closer," which is currently streaming at the pair's website.
"Sainthood," the Canadian outfit's 2009 effort, peaked at No. 21 on The Billboard 200 and at No. 4 on the Canadian Albums chart. The disc was also shortlisted for the 2010 Polaris Music Prize.
Earlier this month, Tegan and Sara received a Grammy nomination in the Best Long Form Music Video category for "Get Along," which includes three films and a live album.
