The Geoff Tate-helmed version of heavy-metal prog-rockers Queensryche will celebrate the 25th anniversary of Queensryche's "Operation: Mindcrime" album with a spring tour.

The anniversary outing gets underway April 6 in Wendover, NV, reaching 10 major markets across the U.S. in three weeks' time.

More dates will be announced soon, according to a press release.

The April kick-off will feature a lineup comprised of frontman Geoff Tate, bassist Rudy Sarzo (Ozzy Osbourne/Quiet Riot), drummer Bobby Blotzer (Ratt), guitarist Kelly Gray (Myth) and keyboardist Randy Gane (Myth).

"It's great to be performing with all of these guys who have been true friends for years," Tate said in a press release. "Kelly, Randy and I formed Myth more than 30 years ago and I've known Rudy and Bobby for several years as well. I think we are all inspired by the collaboration and couldn't be more excited to bring it to our fans next year."

On the spring tour, Tate's Queensryche will perform all 15 songs from the 1988 platinum-selling release, "Operation: Mindcrime," as well as fan favorites from other albums, including 2006's "Operation: Mindcrime II."

Tate was fired from Queensryche in June, along with Susan Tate, his wife and the band's manager. The Tates later filed a lawsuit arguing that they were wrongly dismissed.

Until the legal wrangling concludes, there are two versions of Queensryche: the aforementioned edition helmed by Tate, and a version featuring Michael Wilton (guitar), Eddie Jackson (bass), Scott Rockenfield (drums), Parker Lundgren (guitar) and Todd La Torre (vocals).

Editor's Note: This story was updated after its original publication to clarify that there currently are two bands touring under the Queensryche name.
